Obverse : The CHOGM 2013 Sri Lanka logo within a raised rim.
Reverse : A image of the Central Bank building in the center of the Token with month NOVEMBER 2013 below. The words THE CENTRAL BANK OF SRI LANKA WELCOMES DELEGATES above and COMMONWEALTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT MEETING below in English along the periphery, within a raised rim.

The Token was issued to Delegates in Brilliant Uncirculated in a hard clear plastic coin capsule. with a black soft plastic ring to fit.
It was not sold or issued to the public. It is not even on display at the CBSL Economic History Museum, opened just before CHOGM.

Token was struck by The Royal Mint of UK and gifted directly to the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka for distribution at CHOGM. After 54 years The Royal Mint lost the 2013 contract to mint coins for Sri Lanka and this gesture was probably to renew relationships.

The primary Numismatic item issued by CBSL for CHOGM was a commemorative Rs 500 currency note.

The Token was scanned at 600 dpi and the images are displayed at 300 dpi. This token is from Mr Dhanesh Wisumperuma who was the first to inform us about it on November 24th. He had been given it on registration at 2nd International Conference on Social Sciences (ICSS) at Kelaniya University 2013 November 22-23. CBSL was not a sponsor of this conference held few days after CHOGM. Probably remaining after CHOGM they had been given by a government Ministry official to be given out to foreign registrants at ICSS-2013. I am glad that Dhanesh was also given one, and thank him for the loan of this token, to document it.
