`Lakshmi' Plaque with seated Bull

A struck plaque of normal size with goddess Lakshmi on obvese and a railed svastika with seated bull on reverse.

Obverse : standing goddess Lakshmi probably holding stalks of a plant not clearly visible.

Reverse : railed svastika revolving to right (clockwise). A seated bull on right and a faint indication of a flower pot on left.

The absence of prominent breasts seen in most Lakshmi plaques have led some to describe image as a male god although the narrow hips appear to indicate a female form.

The coin was scanned at 300dpi and displayed at 200dpi. It was obtained in 1999 December from Rajah Wickremesinhe an Author and collector in Colombo, Lanka.
