Obverse : N (Negapatnam) above the VOC monogram with the base merged to top of the OC, in beaded circle.
Reverse : Thamil legend NAKa /PaDDa / NaM in three lines enclosed in a dotted circle or ellipse.

The two upper copper coins show major differences in the format of the coins. The obverse text on the top coin is in a oblate ellipse and the middle coin in a prolate ellipse..
The color of the bottom coin seems to indicate it maybe have some lead content although it does also show copper-like toning.

The coin was scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at 450 dpi. It was obtained in 2002 March from a dealer in US who kindly allowed me to select varieties from part of a hoard of coins from South India.
