2013 - Mannar - Ten Rupee

As one of a new series of Ten Rupee coins representing the 25 Districts of Sri Lanka, the coin for Mannar was issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka on 2014 November 17. The obverse design depicts Madhu Church as a Religious Catholic Cultural site of Mannar District.

Obverse : Within plain circle, artists impression of the main facade the shrine Church of Our Lady at Madhu. මන්නාරම in Sinhala on top, மன்னார் in Thamil on left, and Mannar on right with 2013 below along the periphery of the coin with raised rim.
Reverse : The large numeral denomination 10 with රුපියල් දහයයි in Sinhala, and பத்து ரூபாய் in Thamil and TEN RUPEES below and year of issue at the bottom flanked by ears of paddy on either side.. The country name ශ්‍රී ලංකා in Sinhala, centered on top, இலங்கை in Thamil on left and SRI LANKA on Right. All within circle of a geometric design along periphery with partly raised rim.

The Commemorative card issued has line drawing and a brief description including economic activities in district.

The two arches of the side entrances completely drawn on coin, are only partly visible in the real photograph on upper left.

The Coin obtained from CBSL was scanned at 600 dpi is displayed at 300 dpi.
