In Scholten the legal weight of the Stuiver of Ceilon is quoted at the price of copper (ca.). For wreath 14.00 gms per Stuiver is given in Scholten and 14.40 gms is adopted by Mitchiner which is consistant with the other wreath dumps in this collection. This would make the upper 1/8 Stuiver dump 30% under weight like the Colombo 1/4 Stuiver dump and therefore maybe contemporary counterfeits unless both were issued when copper was relatively more expensive.
