A five rupee Brass plated Steel commemorative coin was issued on 2015 July 9th to mark the Bank of Ceylon 75th Anniversary on 2014 August 1st.

Obverse : Official logo of Bank of Ceylon 75th Anniversary, slightly modified to fit coin. Legend Anniversary in Sinhala on top and in English and Tamil appears to the left and right along the periphery. Large 75 in center with BoC logo placed within the 5 and cutting the 7. Standing Lion facing left with sword in right paw. A legend Bank of Ceylon in Sinhala appears above and in English and Tamil appears to the left and right within this logo. Dates 1939-2014 below.

Reverse : The large numeral 5 at the centre with FIVE RUPEE in Sinhala, Tamil and English superimposed. Sri Lanka in Sinhala appear at the apex and Tamil and English on each side. 2014 the expected year of issue at the bottom.

Edge: The thick coin has incused lettering C.B.S.L. on milled edge in Sinhala, Tamil and English.

Although the press release said they will be circulated to commercial Banks on July 16th, they were not issued to public at CBSL cash counter even on 17th. The commemorative coin was obtained from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka on July 20th, when they were first circulated to the public.

The coin scanned at 600 dpi and the images are displayed at 300 dpi.
