Obverse : UMS stamped incuse on smoothed surface of coin(?).
Reverse : blank smoothed surface with faint concentric circular scratch marks.

This token is probably from Ceylon, but unidentified as an estate token, or even used as currency. It is however could be a foreign recycled coin. It has the same diameter of the 1963-2004 one rupee, but 8.5% heavier.

There are many unidentified rare tokens like this listed in Pridmore, and obtained from dealers in Ceylon. Till they are identified or found in large numbers, what makes them any different ?.

Reference

The VF grade token was scanned at 600 dpi and the images are displayed at 300 dpi. It was picked up from a dealer in Lanka, I don't remember when.
