Queen Victoria - Ten Cents
A definitive decimal currency Ten cent silver coin established by an Order in Council dated 1892 February 6th. Declared legal tender in Ceylon 1892 October 1st with limit of tender 5 Rupees. Demonetized by proclamation of Governor dated 1942 December 3rd with effect from 1943 February 28th.
Obverse : Young Head of Victoria to left wearing a diadem. A fret border broken by the legend VICTORIA QUEEN, along periphery.
Reverse : A Talipot palm in the center dividing the numerals 1 0 . Left Tamil 10 . Satam; Right Sinhala sather dhahayer. Above CEYLON Below CENTS and year.
