George VI - Half Cent
A definitive Ceylon decimal currency Half cent copper coin. Was demonetized when the Ceylon coinage orders from 1892 to 1919 were revoked on 1941 August 1st, effective 1941 September 1st.
Obverse : Crowned bust of George VI to left in high relief in the center of the legend GEORGE VI KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA, along periphery. Initials of designer P M in relief below the truncation.
Reverse : A Talipot palm in the center. Left Sinhala ½ satheyer; Right Tamil @ Satam. CEYLON . HALF . CENT and year below along periphery.
Mintage as in Royal Mint reports of 1937 and 1940
