A definitive decimal currency 25 cent silver coin. Demonetized by proclamation of Governor dated 1942 December with effect from 1943 February 28th.
Obverse : Crowned bust of George V to left in relief in the center of the legend GEORGE V KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA, along periphery. Initials of designer B.M. in relief on the truncation of the shoulder.
Reverse : A Talipot palm in the center dividing the numerals 2 5 . Left Tamil 25.Satam; Right Sinhala sather visipaha. Above CEYLON Below CENTS and year.
