Reverse : A Talipot palm in the center with ½ සතය in Sinhala on left, •சதம் in Thamil on right. within inner circle. • CEYLON • HALF • CENT • above, and year below in annulus within dot circle along periphery with raised rim.

The figures above from Pridmore(1961). Robert Harris(1970) with reference to Annual Report of Royal Mint gives different mint Figures for 1904 2,011,647 ; 1906 1,505,705 ; 1908 2,000,000 ; 1909 2,000,000 .

Of about 52 Million half cent coins minted with 17 dates from 1870 to 1940 about 17.4 Million remain unsurrended ether lost or among coin collectors.
