Lady and Svastika - Series 2

A rare cast plaque which is much wider and has elephant symbols relatively much larger on either side of Lady on obverse and a railed Svastika atop a pedestal with a ship-like shape on the reverse.

Obverse : Lady standing with hands upraised from elbow over head and the two elephants standing with trunck raised above her head on either side from lotus at knee level are relatively larger than normal.

Reverse : Railed Svastika, rotating right (Clockwise). Svastika mounted on a staff on horizontal line base with four vertical lines rising from it, on an elaborate pedestal structure under the rail taking the form of a ship. Triangular pennent-like symbol pointing down to the right (and left), all within plain circle.

H.72 is from Anuradhapura and the rest including this coin Plate Specimen H.73 are from Akurugoda.
